A Date Provided By Grandma and Grandpa Hawryluk

I seriously have the cutest grandparents!
For Christmas 2011, they gave the married grandkids a Date Night Kit. It included treats, $30 cash, and a list of Date Night At Home Ideas.
We planned to complete #16: "Design your dream house or dream yard. Sketch your plans, then share your ideas."

So we took out the treats they gave us:
And took out some books/magazines from the library:
And since the library doesn't really like it when you rip up their books, instead of making a collage, we just took photos of the things we liked then made up a little digital collage:
Most of the things are goofy/totally unrealistic, but that's not the point. The point is to dream and imagine. While we may be stuck in a little two bedroom apartment, we can still look forward to the future, and also make this small space our own.
Since the evening was free, we took the envelope of money
and put it into a savings account for our future home! We also set up a plan to contribute to it on a regular basis. Home ownership - here we come!!

It was a great night. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
Here are some last words from that letter they gave us:

"With creativity and effort, some advance planning and determination to to carry out those plans, your stay-at-home dates can help build that important reserve love every marriage needs."
