Mock Caribbean Vacation

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Isn't this the old adage we ought to live by? Eight months ago the Hawryluks were thrown a HUGE lemon when Papa Hawryluk (I'm not allowed to call him Jody) lost his job. It was a sad time for a lot of reasons, one being the fact that our family cruise to the Caribbean would no longer come to fruition (Nice! There's a word you don't see everyday). What I love about the Hawryluks is that they value time spent with family more than anything else. Unlike most people, they don't need to spend a lot of money to make them happy. So rather than spending $10,000+ dollars we spent less than $100 to put together a night of Caribbean style fun for the entire Hawryluk clan. We did everything you would normally do on a cruise. But before we could do anything it was necessary for us to burn all of the documents related to the booking of our vacation. This sacrilegious ceremony marked the commencement of the official

HAWRYLUK FAMILY CARIBBEAN PARTY!

Enjoy.....

No Caribbean Party is complete without a man wearing a coconut bra. Melissa was very impressed.

Melissa telling us how much money we saved. It was an outrageous amount!

Check out those HUGE biceps!

I insisted on being the one to start the fire. Safety first, right. You should always rely on someone who knows what they're doing. ;)

Pina Coladas and Strawberry Daiquiris. No Vodka of course.

No cruise is complete without a wild game of BINGO with the old folk.

We ate tons of food: sweet potato fries, springrolls, mozzarella sticks, spinach dip, pineapple, tortilla chips and much much more. To finish off the night we watched a movie and ordered pizza after midnight... because that's what you do on a Caribbean Cruise.
