In the Hawryluk family because there's like ten billion of us, we "draw names" for Christmas. For 2011, Jordan and I got my sister Megan and her husband Robin. Last year they had us and invited us to Edmonton to spend a weekend with them at WEM. It was super fun so we thought we would do something similar. To shake things up Christmas morning, we gave them a bag full of white circles with a number on one side and a letter on the other.
When they had all the pieces laid out, the message said that we would take them to a play or musical performance of their choice. A few weeks later, we received a reply in the same fashion!
They said they wanted to go to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Pumphouse Theatre.
We were excited for April 25 to roll around. Unfortunately I was lame and didn't take a lot of pictures.
The Pumphouse theatre is really neat. If you haven't been there before, you should totally go. The tickets are very reasonable and the shows are always fantastic.
We really liked the show. My favorites were the White Witch who had an awesome German accent and little Lucy who had to memorize so many lines at such a young age (and Megan said she looked like our little sister Taylor - she totally did!). Robin thought it was strange that they used music from movies like Star Wars, Gladiator, and Lord of The Rings...odd indeed. lol. Don't they have to pay royalties?
After the show we went to Guiseppe's for dinner. We went here for lunch once and really liked it. It turns out that at night, the place turns into a full serve restaurant. The food was SOOO good. I had this house made gnocchi with basil sauce that was to die for. Their pizzas rock too.
We did take one quick picture at the end of the night...we were freezing!
Thanks for coming Megan and Robin! You two are SOOO much fun. We wish you lived in Calgary so we would hang out more often.
P.S. check out their blog! (and guess who's on the main page? BOOYAA!! :)

Yay! This was such a fun night! I totally want to go eat at that place again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun Christmas present guys!
Also, I'm super happy we made it onto your blog!
