Let's Go Fly a Kite, Up to the Highest Height!

Let’s rewind three years...
Two newly married sweethearts walk into “Kites and other Delights” in West Edmonton Mall and find the most amazing trick kite ever. They know the $40 will be worth the spectacular awesomeness this kite will bring. They dream of blustery days in the park, flying their new kite, but alas, it sits in the back of a closet and collects dust.

Fast-forward to the present day...
The kite is resurrected! The “newly marrieds” are now approaching four years of marriage and are determined to put that kite to good use. The excitement builds, with a hint of worry, will it fly? Will we have all the parts? Will the kite get stuck in a tree, and require us to knock on someone’s door and borrow a ladder to retrieve the kite, hauling it over to the tree only to find out the ladder is to short to reach the kite???!!”
Luckily for us, our kite flying experience was a total success. It did take a while to get the hang of it considering it has two strings instead of one, but we had a great time figuring it out. Did you know that flying a kite is great exercise? Seriously! I worked up a sweat!

We had a "picnic lunch" provided my Mr. Sub

Melissa (the last one's my favorite!)

We had so much fun during this date. The cutest thing was that some kids saw us and must have thought it looked fun because they went into their house and found a small dollar store kite and tried to fly it. It was kind of sad though, because they couldn’t figure it out and nobody was helping them. We were going to go help them but they gave up and went inside. I can’t wait until we have kids of our own and we can take them to the park to teach them to fly a kite. We’re so excited to teach them to have fun and make every day an adventure!

  1. Matt and Tanner adore kite flying! They always go out on windy days to fly them. We have a few kites so Tanner likes to choose the "fastest" kite.
